Our country’s most famous city, Cape Town, is your first destination and is certain to impress.  Arrive at Cape Town International Airport, grab your luggage, meet your FTA representative, and either collect your car rental or hop onto the transport arranged. Check-in at the accommodation and enjoy the rest of the day acquainting yourself with some of the city’s attractions.  We’ve designed our tour to give you two days to soak up the city and have a huge list of possibilities so please consult with us so as to create an itinerary to maximise your time.

Your first round of golf will be at the incredibly beautiful Steenberg GC. Play your 18 holes at this Peter Mackotvich-designed course set amongst estate vineyards which offers golfers unique challenges on each hole, views of mountains and the sea, and the option of a post-round wine-tasting and lunch.

After a pleasant morning of walking the fairways in this premier estate, head to the Steenberg Vineyard for a wine tasting followed by lunch served at the award-winning Bistro sixteen82, also located within the Steenberg Estate. If you would like a change of scenery and some culture, next door to Steenberg is an impressive art gallery, the Norval Foundation, which features a large sculpture garden and the superb Skotnes Restaurant.  Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens is also a very short drive away.

Recommendations: Head to Camps Bay beach to soak up some of the African sun, followed by cocktails and cuisine at one of the many establishments overlooking the ocean.  The famous V&A Waterfront is a treasure trove of sights, shopping and excellent eateries.  If you are feeling energetic, a trip up the Table Mountain cable-car offers unbeatable vistas of the whole Cape Peninsula, or you can sit and soak up the city from the top of the open-air ‘Red Bus’ sightseeing bus.

A self-drive or guided peninsula tour will take you from Cape Town to the surfing hamlet of Muizenberg, and then to hug the coastal road all the way to Cape Point Nature Reserve.  Highlights along the way include penguins at Boulders Beach, a meander through the quaint Kalk Bay village (best mussels to be eaten at Olympia Café), see the military base in Simonstown and top it off with sunset on the most visually spectacular Chapman’s Peak Drive.

With the Western Cape’s exceptional scenery even today’s 5-hour drive to George will be a pleasure.  We highly recommend taking the scenic coastal route (Clarence Drive) for the first leg of your trip as it straddles mountains, cliffs and the ocean, with views of the Cape fynbos. If you would prefer flying to George from Cape Town then that’s absolutely fine too. We can arrange. Its’ a quick 40-minute flight

Hermanus, SA’s most famous whale-watching town, makes an excellent stop for lunch before taking the national highway to George, where you’ll check into the famous Fancourt Hotel.

The hotel and golf course lie at the base of the towering Outeniqua Mountains, and are characterised by modern luxury, classic elegance and great diversity in golf courses.

Here you will play the Outeniqua, ranked 17th in South Africa by the Golf Digest experts, a leisurely and fun golfing experience. It provides a more forgiving terrain than its counterpart, the Montagu, but offers its fair share of challenges to keep golfers interested.

Fancourt’s Montagu golf course, originally designed by Gary Player, has earned an international reputation as one of the finest 18-hole parkland layouts. It holds the prestigious 8^th position on Golf Digest South Africa’s list of top golf courses in the country. Enjoy your round, whilst taking in the scenery.

South Africa’s number 1 rated course, The Links, is Exclusive and private. The Links has hosted some of the most prestigious tournaments in the world, including the Presidents Cup (2003), the SA Open (2005) and the 2012 Volvo Golf Champions European Tour. If you looking to play this championship course just let us know and we can make it happen at an additional cost

Recommendations: Fancourt has four excellent on-site restaurants if you don’t feel like venturing out but the little hamlet of Wilderness is a 15-minute drive away – worth it for views of the Indian Ocean and dramatic gorges and a meal at a local eatery.

You could also have a well-deserved wind-down at the hotel’s spa after two days of fantastic golf.
