Rovos Rail, established in 1989, has rightfully earned its reputation for its truly world-class train travel experiences.

On arrival at the airport, you will be greeted by a Fairways to Africa representative and taken to your hotel of choice or straight to Rovos Rail Headquarters at Pretoria train station.

This 9-night 10-day golfing safari is sure to entertain both astute golfers and excited non-golfers alike. This trip starts in Pretoria and traverses to Sun City, Champagne Sports Resort, Highland Gate, Durban and Swaziland; and offers some of the top-rated golf courses under the rich South African sun.

Beyond these fan-favourite golf courses are exciting excursions and activities for the non-golfers (or golfers looking for a much-needed break), showing botanical gardens, interacting with artisans and enjoying an endless supply of stellar views and good food experiences.

Each course is situated near game reserves or national parks such as Kruger and Pilanesberg which is sure to offer a true safari experience as guests explore the mountains, bush, game and battlefields in these areas.

DAY 1 - 10

This singular safari starts in Pretoria before heading to Pilanesberg for a game drive at Sun City*. After crossing the Drakensberg Mountains, the Valley of a Thousand Hills to get to Spionkop Lodge* – the perfect base for exploring the natural beauties and battlefields – visit Durban* for a botanical gardens tour and interactions with creative artisans. To follow is a game viewing in the reknowned Kruger Park, Malelane*; one of the oldest reserves at Hluhluwe, Zululand; and Mkhaya*, eSwatini which hosts a refuge for endangered species. Visit Dullstroom for their arts and crafts and Birds of Prey Rehabilitation Centre before wrapping up the journey in Pretoria to experience a flyfishing and introduction to whisky presentation.
