Knysna
DAY 1-2Knysna is one of the most famous and picturesque travel destinations in South Africa. Situated on the banks of a large lagoon and framed by ancient indigenous forests, it is best known for its oysters, seahorses, and, of course, absolutely spectacular golf courses. In between your rounds take advantage of the setting and charter a yacht for sundowners on the lagoon, or toast the sunset from a restaurant deck on the historical Thesen Island.
Here you will play two championship courses which both offer sweeping views of the ocean and surrounding mountains but from opposite ends of the Knysna Lagoon. Both feature world-class facilities and will impress both experienced and amateur golfers. Simola is the first of three Jack Nicklaus-designed courses in South Africa, and is a masterpiece which offers rewarding, challenging golf using the existing natural landscapes. Perched dramatically atop the Knysna Heads, the rugged beauty of Pezula Golf Course is matched by its technical challenge, ensuring it is a completely rewarding golfing experience.

DAY 5-7After two days of leisure you should be ready for three championship golf courses with one of them, The Links, rated South Africa’s number one course. Fancourt is a hotel and golf course complex lying at the base of the towering Outeniqua Mountains amongst farmlands and forests. This development is characterized by modern luxury, classic elegance and great diversity in golf courses.
Fancourt’s Montagu golf course, originally designed by Gary Player, has earned an international reputation as one of the finest 18-hole parkland layouts. It holds the prestigious 8th position on Golf Digest South Africa’s list of top golf courses in the country.
The Outeniqua, ranked 17th in South Africa by the Golf Digest experts, is a leisurely and fun course. It provides a more forgiving terrain than the Montagu, but offers its fair share of challenges to keep golfers of all levels engaged.
The Links is described by Gary Player as his “greatest ever feat as a course designer.” The Links has hosted some of the most prestigious tournaments in the world, including the Presidents Cup (2003), the SA Open (2005) and the 2012 Volvo Golf Champions European Tour and is guaranteed to be a day of golf you will remember forever.
Recommendations: Fancourt has a world class spa facility if you fancy an indulgent, restful afternoon, as well as hosts multiple dining options for lunch/dinner. If you are looking for something more adventurous, take a drive to the impressive Cango Caves for a caving tour, or head to nearby Victoria Bay and lap up some of our signature South African sun on the beach.
